Paper Walls.

I don't think there has ever been more options out there for awesome wallpapers as there is now. Here are several options available at 'Ministry of the interior', a design shop/gallery located on Ossington Avenue, downtown Toronto. I love both the raw art walls as well as the strong graphic patterns. Wall Paper is becoming like less like wall paper and more like artwork...Brilliant! I mean, why should art remain confined in frames, why not take over the entire wall?

I Miss You.

Ever feel like you're living under a rock? Thats how i felt when I discovered this cute little Vintage Shop in Toronto called I Miss You. It carries upscale vintage dresses and accessories... so...where have I been?! lol. Well, I guess I'll quote a famous artist that once said... "well if don't know, now ya know playa!"... ha ha... all that to say, I am gonna need to check out this spot sometime soon... its at 63 Ossington Ave...for all those of you who are on a need to know basis:)

Monday Benefit.

Benefit Make Up packaging always stands out to me as a strong branding campaign. I will often be sitting in a make up chair on set and the make up artists will have Benefit products set up on their station...and I am always intrigued by the packaging. I think if I were a make up artist I would keep the products displayed at my station all the time, even if I did not use them, but just so I could admire the darling designs...come on, they're adorable...and a bit cheeky:) ... I love it when make up companies try new ways to package their products...and really give themselves an identity that stands out from the bland shelves...
Here is a selection of products within the campaign...oh ya and happy Monday!

I'll be right beside you.

Happy Saturday Darlings!
This is a "Mariana's Trench" song that's been out for a while, but whenever I hear this song on the radio it really reminds me of the heart of God towards us. That may sound weird to some of you who may not be "religious"...but that's the whole point...this song comes from a heart of a person who loves someone else. I don't believe God is confined to a church building...and that's a comforting thing because I need Him everyday and the last time I checked I don't live in a church :) I love how sometimes I can be watching a movie or listening to a song that is not at all related to God or spirituality, but it can seem like God may be trying to send us a message. Thats how I feel about this song. The words of this song are so powerful...and it reminds me that I'm not alone and that I am loved. And when I know that, I am a stronger person.
Enjoy the video:)

Belgium is calling.

While flipping through a random magazine I came across an ad for Sarah Pacini, a Designer from Belgium. The clothes had such as ease and peaceful vibe to them, that it really attracted me to type her name into my iphone and look her up later. After looking over her beautiful website, I've got to say.... I'm a fan. These clothes are very different from anything I am usually drawn to...I think its that they are so different...like people in toronto don't dress like this...which is the whole point...to try something else. I love the layers, layers, layers! so great...and I could imagine these looks being great for traveling because everything looks so darn comfortable... wow, what a concept, feeling beautiful and being comfortable...oh yes my friends...it is possible.
Thank you Belgium.

Beauty School Drop out.

So I am still trying out these awesome beauty products from Langton PR and now I am on to hair treatments! I was sent two great products by La Coupe. The names of these products reminded me of that old Grease Movie, and the girl who dropped out of Beauty School... The first one...was none other then "La Coupe Volume Hair Plumper!"...wow...I didn't even know my hair could be "plumped"... lol ... but apparently it can. So I tried it out the other day and left my hair in natural curls...which is rare considering how short my hair is. But I really liked the effect the treatment had...I mean its not like my hair strands got thicker or anything but overall my hair had a lot more body and lift...I felt plump! ;) haha... I couldn't resist....but seriously back to business...the stuff actually does what it says it will do...so for all the limp haired girls reading this...give 'er a try...

I also tried the "Le Coupe Overnight repair miracle masque".... wow thats a long name!....this stuff is for all us girls who put our hair through torture on a regular basis...like bleaching, dying, hair dryers, pollution, the sun...and all other forms of damage. This product is designed to recover hair from all the times we show it no love at all. I put it on my hair and it instantly felt like silk...I think I will make this part of some kind of regular ritual for my hair... Hey, I am all about doing the small things so that my lifestyle is low maintenance...if I can keep my hair happy, it will be good to me... nuff said. So the moral of the story is, stay in beauty school. :)

Models...on their way to work...

(New York) (Paris)

Models are the faces that represent the the most influential fashion labels in the world...so its interesting to see how they choose to dress as they arrive to the shows for fashion week in cities like New York, London, Paris or Milan. I think its important to keep a watch of how people dress around the world so we don't get stuck in a little box and look like everyone else in our city... :)
Here are a selection of looks I found that were seen all over the world...enjoy!

Black Cab Sessions...

I discovered the "Black Cab Sessions" phenomenon while working on a fashion set a while back...all the crew were huddled around a Mac watching one of these videos and when I saw it I thought...what a brilliant concept...I mean...London really does have their own way of doing things, but this is definitely an original idea. So basically when artists tour in London, they go to this crew and film a live performance of a song in a moving Black Cab....no sound system...no mics....just the pure art of performance...brilliant! I love how it really challenges the artists to really perform.
Here is a clip of Lykke Li performing "Im good, Im gone"... this is an artist from Stockholm Sweden who is really hitting it big right now... they had their break in the soundtrack of the Twilight series...check it out...Enjoy!

oh ya...you may want to turn off my music player...so you can actually hear it:)))
Happy weekend.

Hurry Up and Wait...

"Hurry Up and Wait"...
I've heard this phrase repeatedly in the Fashion & Music industry...it tells of how there can be such an urgency to get to a certain place and when you get there, you are told to wait..........But I find this to be true in life...sometimes my days can feel like I am running, rushing to the next place, the next venue...to meet a deadline...but when I get there its like a stand still. So again, I wait........................

This can be a frustrating process. I personally like things to always be moving forward... onward and upward...growing, evolving into something more...and waiting seems like such a waste of precious time. But I've heard it said before, that patience is not waiting...patience is how you act while you are waiting. A lot of waiting can develop a lot of patience. Maybe that's what I need...maybe that's what God is trying to tell me:)

Here are some shots Chris took of me, while we were yet again waiting for a show to start...he caught me feeling restless and bored...and of course he was on his cell phone in a meeting while shooting...typical;) Sometimes stopping to smell the roses can be forced. I think sometimes God will bring things to a stand still so that we can snap out of our tunnel vision. During those waiting times, I can still be growing and evolving and dreaming of something bigger.

Dreaming is never a waste of time.
