facing forward.

Hello Darlings....
I'm so excited to write to you all because today is a massively special day of the year. Today is the day we wave a final goodbye to all the joys and sorrows of the past and we face forward to the new year ahead... which will be here in a matter of hours:) I love the idea of renewal. I even have the words RENEW on the door of my office so that everyday when I walk in, I will see it and it will remind me that today is a new day and I need to renew my mind to all the new possibilities this day has to offer. This past year has been a whirlwind of creativity, travel, laughter, tears, fun, stress and everything in between...
This is the year I feel I
truly found myself...well...let me rephrase that...God found me and He introduced me to myself...if that makes any sense...:)
I feel like I know now more then ever what I want from my life and more importantly, what I want to contribute to the world. Now, ladies I know that today you may be scrambling around town trying to find that killer outfit for that special event tonight...but maybe take an hour and do the following:

1. Reflect on the year.
(What were the highlights?)

2. Let go of disappointment...
This was a big one for me...but trust me...you will feel 10 pounds lighter!
This includes forgiving yourself, if you feel disappointed by your own actions.
Lighten up and let go!

3. Forgive others.
Nothing will set you free like when you forgive other people!
plus....most of the time the people we are mad at don't know or don't care...
so why stay angry and let toxins go through your body?!
Choose to forgive them for YOUR SAKE.

4. DREAM!
Close your eyes for a few minutes and let your mind dream.
What if there was nothing in your way?...what would you do? ...
what could you do this year to help other people?
Dreaming is not a waste time... even the bible says
"as a man thinks, so he becomes"
We become what we think about.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! XO

Well 2011 is just days away and I for one cannot wait for the new year to begin!

As the new year approaches I am excited to work with all my wedding couples as they celebrate their big day!

Here are a few pics of two of the amazing couples I got to photograph in 2010!

Ring a ling ling.

Theres something soooo SICK about a big, fat, strong, unusual ring on a girls middle finger. Its the statement of it.... like anything goes:) ....even with a t-shirt and jeans....or a crazy glamourous outfit for a special event... a fun ring screams personality!
If you are still scrambling to find a girlfriend a great gift before Christmas... a big, fun, costume ring will do the trick and keep your wallet happy too:) As usual, Urban outfitters doesn't disappoint this season with these wild and wonderful dazzlers. Forget jingle bells...I'm thinking more... Ring a ling ling! xo

Icon.

If I just say the name Audrey Hepburn...Im sure the iconic images that made her famous will come to your mind....those strong eye brows, pixie cut bangs, long satin gloves...and lets not forget the pearls. While Marilyn Monroe became an icon of flirty seduction...Audrey became an icon of fashion, charm and most of all, class. Her fashion alone helped forge the style of the 60's....the long lashes ... black liquid eye liner. I think she was a stunning women but the thing that stands out to me about her is that in her later life...after winning countless awards and being named the "most beautiful actress..."... she left it all behind to go do humanitarian work with Unicef in Africa, South America and Asia. Being a war survivor herself as a child in German occupied Netherlands...she felt compelled to return to those who were hurting and do something about it. She became a Goodwill Ambassador and worked to help children all over the world. This is how the "most beautiful woman" spent the rest of her life.
Live to Give.

it's all in the details, my dear.

Chanel always takes my breath away...especially when I look a little closer at the detail shots. There's a reason why Chanel stays at the top of the fashion world... its the hours, days, weeks and months that goes into all the intricate details. Here are my favs from the show.
