California Dreamin.

Hello Darlings.
Yes, its been over a week since my last blog, but please forgive me...
I was very stressed out while surfing in Oceanside California. :) wink.
Chris and I travel a lot all year for tours, but last week was different. We took a much needed five day vacation in Southern California and it was absolutely amazing. We intentionally slowed down our crazy pace and entered chill Cali mode. We slept in, hit vintage shops, ate breakfast burritos, drank lattes, walked aimlessly around Venice Beach......and when we were over the slow pace, we rented boards and went surfing for two days! Ya, we found ourselves a new hobby:)
Im not sure what it is about the ocean...but just being around it clears the mind. Its one of the parts of Gods creation that reminds me how small I am and how Big God is. And that gives me a sense of ease...

Here are some shots from my iphone:) xo.

Umbrellas.

I randomly came across a blog that featured this gorgeous creative story called Umbrellas. It was shot by Martin Bing. I'm not familiar with this photographer at all but I've got to show some love for these stunning images. I love the color treatment and the over all soft feeling. The dream like tone and texture of these photos feel like I'm peering into another reality...beautiful.
Images like these make me want to shoot delicate & feminine creatives...

Red Headed Wonder.

Karen Elson is a British model, Singer/Songwriter and Guitarist. She is always walking in the top fashion shows and even walked for Marc Jacobs when she was full term pregnant! She writes and performs her own music and in interviews she gives insightful thought and interesting ideas behind her opinions. And lets not forget the obvious...shes got wicked red hair! Love it.
This one goes out to all the red heads out there! You are a natural wonder and we love you for it:)

Scouting.

I shot a wedding last weekend up north in the country and it was absolutely beautiful. I went scouting around the area a few days before the wedding and here are some of the shots I got...I will post some of my favs from the wedding later... it will be worth the wait... :)

Rag & Bone.

Welcome to the cozy, layered, wonderful...slightly weird world of Rag & Bone. The name in itself makes me wonder...but never the less...I adore these layered autumn looks. These girls look like they have a mission...like they are on their way for an adventure. They look like they could kick butt if they needed to, but they are also in cozy knits...what a great combo. And the added corkiness...i.e. the modern day fanny packs...lol...just make this girl even more interesting. Here are my favs from the show. xo

Kors.

Michael Kors is known for his American Sports wear collections. He is constantly bringing out new ideas but still keeping his look classic and high end. Every once in a while I will take a quick walk through the Local Boutique just to admire the textures and cut of his designs. Here is a selection of my favourite looks from his fall show...

Beautiful.

I think my favourite part of photographing weddings is shooting the beauty shots of the bride. Last month I shot Hailey and Scotts wedding and it was an amazing day. Hailey was a stunning bride and it was easy to photograph her. Here are a few shots of her before she left for the wedding location...

looky looky

Every now and then I will flick through Look Book and see what other people are wearing right now around the world. I think traveling the world has made me more curious then ever to keep my eyes open to new and interesting ideas.
Here are a bunch of looks I loved. Enjoy...xo
