I just picked up the "BORN FOR THIS" screen print collection on monday at my printer and I am thrilled with the prints! I was super excited to find out one of my art hero's Sheperd Fairey (the artist behind the "OBEY" poster series and fashion label) also prints at the same place! The prints are limited edition of only 50 per design! I will fill you all in shortly with info on how you can get your own print or maybe buy one for a christmas present??? :) just sayin...lol

facing forward.

Hello Darlings....
I'm so excited to write to you all because today is a massively special day of the year. Today is the day we wave a final goodbye to all the joys and sorrows of the past and we face forward to the new year ahead... which will be here in a matter of hours:) I love the idea of renewal. I even have the words RENEW on the door of my office so that everyday when I walk in, I will see it and it will remind me that today is a new day and I need to renew my mind to all the new possibilities this day has to offer. This past year has been a whirlwind of creativity, travel, laughter, tears, fun, stress and everything in between...
This is the year I feel I truly found myself...well...let me rephrase that...God found me and He introduced me to myself...if that makes any sense...:)
I feel like I know now more then ever what I want from my life and more importantly, what I want to contribute to the world. Now, ladies I know that today you may be scrambling around town trying to find that killer outfit for that special event tonight...but maybe take an hour and do the following:

1. Reflect on the year.
(What were the highlights?)

2. Let go of disappointment...
This was a big one for me...but trust me...you will feel 10 pounds lighter!
This includes forgiving yourself, if you feel disappointed by your own actions.
Lighten up and let go!

3. Forgive others.
Nothing will set you free like when you forgive other people!
plus....most of the time the people we are mad at don't know or don't care...
so why stay angry and let toxins go through your body?!
Choose to forgive them for YOUR SAKE.

4. DREAM!
Close your eyes for a few minutes and let your mind dream.
What if there was nothing in your way?...what would you do? ...
what could you do this year to help other people?
Dreaming is not a waste time... even the bible says
"as a man thinks, so he becomes"
We become what we think about.

California Dreamin.

Hello Darlings.
Yes, its been over a week since my last blog, but please forgive me...
I was very stressed out while surfing in Oceanside California. :) wink.
Chris and I travel a lot all year for tours, but last week was different. We took a much needed five day vacation in Southern California and it was absolutely amazing. We intentionally slowed down our crazy pace and entered chill Cali mode. We slept in, hit vintage shops, ate breakfast burritos, drank lattes, walked aimlessly around Venice Beach......and when we were over the slow pace, we rented boards and went surfing for two days! Ya, we found ourselves a new hobby:)
Im not sure what it is about the ocean...but just being around it clears the mind. Its one of the parts of Gods creation that reminds me how small I am and how Big God is. And that gives me a sense of ease...

Scouting.

I shot a wedding last weekend up north in the country and it was absolutely beautiful. I went scouting around the area a few days before the wedding and here are some of the shots I got...I will post some of my favs from the wedding later... it will be worth the wait... :)

Stunner.

I just had to stop and admire this beautiful Fashion Campaign for Ports Fall 2010. This model looks like shes made of alabaster...with pale olive skin mixed with cool tones in the photos. I love the dresses in this campaign. They are constructed in a way that they drape over the body and have a classic feel. The idea of such gorgeous fabrics and stunning beauty placed in such an industrial location, creates a beautiful tension, which makes the girl stand out even more. It makes you wonder, what in the world is a delicate beautiful person doing in a cold, damp place like that? But I think that's what makes it interesting.

Sleepless in Seattle.

I head out on tour last Monday, needing a bit of a break from the craziness back home...and what do I get...? well, I wouldn't exactly call it a break. I jumped in a car with my husband and our band of three other men and began traveling for hours on end from show to show. We even drove through the night to make it to each show...and let me tell you... sleeping in a moving truck is not really sleeping. Especially when you have long limbs that are folded up like a pretzel in the back seat....Sleep was a luxury on this trip. But, in the midst of all the hustle, we had a day off in one of my favourite American cities...Seattle. We visited the hubby's record label, hit up Thai Toms...the best Thai spot ever...and of course wandered through great vintage shops. It was a much needed day to recover. Here is a few pics of me and the man....

Fashion gets some curves.

Crystal Renn is a plus size model who is turning the fashion world on its head!
I keep hearing about this voluptuous beauty and seeing her being interviewed and after hearing her story, I can see why. She began modeling at the age of 14 after being scouted at an etiquette school and was immediately told she needed to loose 9 inches around her hips...which was 75 pounds! So within one year, this little girl lost the weight by exercising everyday and eating only lettuce and come veggies... Soon after that, she began loosing her hair, having dizzy spells and literally could not walk. Anorexia had taken over her life. So she had to make the choice to give up her dreams of modeling and start eating again. Ironically, when she reached her personal healthy body size of a size 12, her modeling career began to take off and today she is the top plus size model in the industry. WOW. Her story is fascinating and I think literally breaths a sigh of relief for plus size models everywhere, let alone the average north American women, who by the way is a size 14.

Crystal has been shooting for Vogue, Elle and loads of other mags...and recently opened and closed a fashion show for Jean Paul Gauthier.
