Dilly Dally.

On our first day back from the UK tour, where do I find myself? Following the guys around a massive Dealer lot, looking for a trailer for Band gear! While the guys seemed very interested in what was going on, I was dilly dallying behind...taking random photos and looking for something that would inspire. Or maybe it was just jet lag and I was delirious... hey, we'll never know but never the less, the event turned into a bit of a fun shoot. And yes, I was wearing a dress shopping for a trailer...lol...thats what happens when all your clothes are in the laundry bin. :)
who knew shopping for trailers could be so intriguing... ironically the reflective surfaces gave me some ideas for future shoots...wow...I guess inspiration can happen anywhere.

Knits!

well, the fall is almost here and one thing I love about the fall weather is layering cozy knits! My favourites are these big warm oversize sweaters worn over a simple dress or shorts...with boots of course! Here are some ads for Stephanel featuring the lovely Daria...and also some shots from the current Elle Canada interview with the Doll face... this girl rocks and she's Canadian of course! :)

New York State of Mind

So I am back from London and must say, I'm happy to see my own bed. No more living out of bags, waiting in customs lines or doing laundry in hotel bathtubs!...well...for a little while anyway;) I passed by my friend Rebeccas place yesterday and noticed she had the new Elle US September issue...so of course I was magnetically drawn to it on her kitchen counter...and somehow it left with me when I walked out her front door....thanks Bek! lol....but when I opened the pages I found this absolutely stunning New York fashion story that I need to share. The photography in this story has a real sense of New York. The lighting, the muted colors, the textures...oh ya and the Fashion! This girl rocks and she doesn't look like she gives a rip if she is wearing something that is "in" this season... she is just living her life and being herself, wow...what a concept. I love this.

Props to the Photographer, Laurie Bartley, great work.

xo.

One Legged Jockey...

ok girls...I know I have not blogged in a few days but I am just re-surfacing after 5 days of workshops with the Spire Tour. Things are going great and we are getting to discuss issues of identity and vocation with teens all over the Country. The workshops are one hour long and are designed to help teens discover how to find a sense of personal identity as well as starting to think about how they can use their natural talents and giftings to develop their career path. I feel like I am learning as I am teaching in the workshops. The Spire team are an amazing group of people and we are having a blast. I have much to share with you all but for now, seeing as I am exhausted, sitting in a hotel bed...I will share a really cool vintage shop I found the other day called the One Legged Jockey...catchy name eh? lol...

oh ya...and today we found out we got a last minute booking to play Flavo festival in Holland next week! Apparently this festival is one of the biggest in Europe:) oh yes...rock on baby!

Military meets Street.

I know summer is still in full swing, but lets for a second look ahead to the approaching season...and see whats in store. I personally love the looks of the Fall 2010 line from Burberry Prorsum. Christopher Bailey always seems to be able to find a way to create great structured looks, while making them very wearable and comfortable. These are clothes for people on the go, that have a busy lifestyle and want to just throw on a sick jacket and head out the door. The double breasted military inspired coats above are so versatile for both casual and formal events...for both guys and girls. Here are some of my favourite looks from the show...xo!

Easy going street style.

All though London is a bustling city filled with a massive amount of people moving in every direction all at once...it seems like much of the street style is quite easy going. I love this look above with the undone hair, one shoulder ethereal drapey dress skiming the floor worn with neutral flats...this is something I would like to wear on a day off just walking around the city in and out of shops and cafes...and even the looks below, though they are "city" they still feel relaxed. Hey, if you can look beautiful and be comfortable all at the same time...you've mastered an empowering balance...sign me up. :)

London Lashes...

England is truly a melting pot of cultures and styles, however one thing I am seeing over and over from the UK gals is the absolute love for big, full, rich lashes. Think Brigitte Bardot, messy...just rolled out of bed hair with barely any other make up on...but big lashes in full effect. I love the look...its got a natural but rockin' vibe and it works for day or night. The eyes are a lot of fun to play up. Im also seeing all kinds of colored lashes, feathers...you name it. As they say, the eyes are the windows to the soul...so why not highlight them? Here are some stunner images I found that really play up the Lash.

Video Blog from the UK!

Hello beautiful people...so here is my first ever video blog shot in Chichester, England earlier today. This will give you an idea of my new hood for the next week. We are having a great time and being so inspired by the people all around us. I feel really blessed to be on this tour and I admire the creativity all around me. I love the UK:)
Enjoy! xo

Its a beautiful day, don't let it get away...

Chris and I took a walk into the hub of Chichester today...a sleepy little town like an hour or so from London. We are staying here this week and have a few days off. These are the kind of days that remind me how simple life can be and how the most simple things make me so happy. Like walking down the street with a tea, holding my hubbys hand...watching the passers by...window shopping...just observing the world for a minute. Seeing how beautiful life is. Life is about who we are meant to become and the people we share our lives with. Life is a constant journey and you never know where you will end up. To quote U2's famous song...
"its a beautiful day, don't let it get away..."
Enjoy every moment. xo.
