saturate.

I adore everything about this fashion spread in Septembers Flare Magazine, shot by Chris Nicholls. I love the raw textures, the rich overcast of magentas and pinks saturated into the images....and the attitude of the model is everything.... LOVE.

water & colours.

Good Morning Lovelies...
Im sitting here sipping my morning coffee after dropping my hubby to the airport for a concert booking.... grazing through inspiration on Esty.com.... when my grazing came to a screeching halt with these stunning water colour fashion illustrations.... WOW.....who is this artist???!
I must know!! .... well folks.... Her name is Cate Parr, born in England, now residing in none other then Los Angelas;) She runs her own studio doing fashion illustrations for designers and fashion Mags.......ummmm Brilliant! I'm so glad that fashion illustration is coming back into fashion marketing...as they say, everything goes in a circle.... I mean, fashion illustration was the only way designers could present their work to the world before photography took over. I've seen lots of illustration pieces showing up in mags and product packaging... its so refreshing! I love how Cate's illustrations are so ethereal and feminine yet there seems to be a tone of strength within the girls in these pieces. The images are dream like in quality but powerful in their feeling. Isn't that the amazing thing about women?... that we may be delicate and feminine on the outside yet within us is a powerful force? and Im not talking about seduction or manipulation.... because those are the lowest forms of a womans power, Im talking about something so much deeper.... Im talking about innovation....creativity.... nurture.... love...
oh yes my friends, women are a mighty force.
To all the women reading this blog, you are our modern day heros.
You are our moms, sisters, best friends, bosses, co-workers.....
You are a powerful force in our lives and we need you. xo

welcome to wild, rugged & beautiful.

hello darlings.
Being married to a musician means I travel a lot. But usually traveling is all about hurrying to get to the next City, following GPS directions, timed pee stops, waiting around in random airports on a layover.... you get the picture:) but then every once in a while there is a rare opportunity to actually stop and enjoy the place we are at. Thats exactly what happened last week when the band and I arrived to Alaska one full day before the concert. Even though we had arrived super late (the boys arrived at 1:30 am and I arrived at 4:30 am....long story!) we still were so excited to jump in a borrowed van and trek out into the WILD in search of all things rugged and beautiful....and that we did my friends:) we listened to rock music and drove through the mountains, stopping at every breath taking view we found and jumping out of the car for photo opps... I mean.... how often are we gonna be in Alaska!? all of us constantly had our cameras and iphones going trying to capture as much of this natural beauty as we could. The air was fresh and unpolluted. Up there, Nature is the tourist attraction. Spending one day in this captivating place was a strong reminder that we have been entrusted with this earth. Lets keep it wild, rugged & beautiful.

art + love = purpose

I love when fashion & art collide with a beautiful cause.
Psalms 91:1 Accessories is a perfect example of this happy collision. Toronto's own Sally Han is the founder of this brand and she has a vision for more then just creating beautiful pieces. From its inception, Psalms has been connected to charity fund raisers and humanitarian causes; from the Toronto Sick Kids Hospital to world crisis such as the Haiti relief efforts. Sally has traveled to Namibia and Native Reserves as a volunteer in order to reach out to those who are less fortunate. Her and her team work to reflect the experiences they have through creative pieces... as Sally is quoted in saying "there's a story behind every piece".

Psalms 91:1
"He who dwells in the shelter of the most high, will rest in the shadow of the almighty..."

Todays blog is to show love to a company that shows love to people on a regular basis. We need more people like you. xo.

texture.

hello darlings....
today I write you from Alaska..... yes.... the beautiful vast landscape of the North.... I flew in this morning at 4:30am.... (don't ask...lol...) and somehow today I am totally not tired. Maybe its just the excitement of being in such a coveted beautiful place that makes me sit on the edge of my seat.... I mean.... in Toronto we have hills, here I am surrounded my Mountains and tons of wild life....love it! I left the hot smoggy summer for a cooler climate and of course brought a few faux furs to keep cozy.... and it reminded me of a creative shoot I did recently with my adorable friend Charity Goring. Charity is a fun, creative....and ummmm not to mention stunning friend of mine who is always a pleasure to photograph! Here are some shots from her shoot, playing with fur and crochet textures.... LOVE.
