Logos are a huge part of the world we live in. Symbols communicate so much information without using any words. This blog is to honor the designers who created these powerful logos we now recognize on a mere glimpse.
Frank Mason Robinson (Designed in 1885!)
The famous Coca-Cola logo was created by John Pemberton’s bookkeeper, Frank Mason Robinson, in 1885.
Coco Chanel (19 August 1883 – 10 January 1971)
The Chanel logo was designed in 1925 by Coco Chanel herself and remains the same to this day. The simple overlapping double ‘C’ - one facing forward and the other facing backward.
Milton Glaser (Born 1929, New York, USA)
This classic logo became the most frequently imitated logo design in human history.
Paul Rand (Born 1914, New York, USA. Died 1996)
IBM is one of Paul Rand's famous designs.
Carolyn Davidson (Design Student, 1971)
The Nike "Swoosh" was designed in 1971 by Carolyn Davidson, a graphic design student at Portland State University. She did some freelance work for a new athletic shoe company called Blue Ribbon Sports, which later became Nike. She was paid $35 for her design. Bummer!
